Random and not at all deep....

Peeps. Love them. Our sale went okay - especially considering that it was cold and windy and we were in a terrible location. We'll do another sale later on when it's warmer and when we can set up in town instead of out here in the country. We really only had furniture and a few smaller things sorted out to sell so far. We'll be sure to add more junk to our stuff to sell, that's pretty much all anybody was interested in! Peeps. We had so much fun on Sunday afternoon having a little mini-Easter celebration with my niece and kids. The chickens were out roaming and so confused by all the colorful eggs that Sean had hidden around the yard! I was able to get my two youngest girls all caught up on their regular immunizations yesterday. You don't understand what a huge accomplishment this was for me. I hate (and therefor put off) taking my children in for vaccinations. It's a mental block for me. I'm quite pleased with myself for overcoming it. Peeps Madis...

This is only Thursday....

Whew! What a week... First, the whining: I keep thinking it's Friday. Much to my disappointment, it is not. It also feels like winter should be over. And it isn't. This was a nice day. Tomorrow? Maybe snow. The next day (the day of our sale) probably snow. Nice. I'm trying really hard to soak up these snowy days. I am. I'll miss them. I will. This is what I keep telling myself. Oh, and in other news: I'm lactose intolerant. And beginning to suspect gluten intolerant, too, though I'm quite reluctant to give up the bread in order to test that theory. Isn't that fun? So no, I wouldn't like any cheese to go with my whine. I'll stop whining now becuase.... There is good - no great - news in the midst of all the not-Friday's, snowstorms, and ridiculous food intolerances! Today - though it is not the Friday I wish it were - is actually a good day. We had a great conversation with a couple that once served in Indonesia with MAF. So unex...

Good Times!

Did ya miss me?! These days, blogging has taken a major back burner to...living. Seems like so much is happening, but nothing really blog worthy! Isn't that how it is?! I'll try to give you a brief recap of the past several days: We had a fabulous time in Kansas - that's somewhat old news, as we've been back home in Colorado for nearly a week now. The picture above is of all of us (including my mom and Grandma Jean) in front of the Centropolis Christian Church. That Church was started in 1858 and is still going strong! My mom grew up in that church and my parents got married there. The pastor took me aside and told me precious stories about my Grandpa and how he'd always have a joke to share the moment he walked in the door and how the smile would spread on his face the moment the first hymn started (Grandpa loved to sing). I saw tears in the pastor's eyes as he spoke of Ted Clark - even ten years after my Grandpa went to be with the Lord, he is remembere...

Going on the road.....

We're loading up Big Greenie (our 1993 GMC Suburban) and getting ready to head East tomorrow. Just a quick trip to visit family and a precious country church in Eastern Kansas. We haven't been out there since before we went to Costa Rica in 2005. So, I'm really, really looking forward to going! It's a long, twelve-hour drive, so we'd appreciate your prayers for safe travels and kids that don't go totally crazy in their car seats! My mom is coming along, so that should be a big help with the girls. By the way, I may be the last person on the planet to discover this, but Pandora Internet Radio is about the coolest thing ever! Just type in your favorite artist or song and it will play not only that artist's music but music that has a similar sound. It's a cool way to find some new artists and also lets you enjoy endless free hours of music tailored specifically to your tastes. Awesome!

Home is where you hang your hat....

Well, as you know, we're now living with my parents. It's a very nice arrangement and, so far, things are going great. I'm completely at home here anyway - this is where I grew up. I love this old house. It feels like any old farmhouse should - historical, grand, quirky, comfortable. It has beautiful, original creaky wood floors that mean nobody can sneak up on you. It's a rock solid house that was built in the 30's and bought by my parents in the early 80's - they've been working on it ever since. I love everything about this house, including the dear people who've lived here for 29 years :-) The other day I took a little walk and snapped a few shots that I knew I'd want to have to look at down the road - you know, when I'm in some hot, muggy tropical place trying to remember a magical place called Colorado. It was a lovely day, with enough of a hint of spring in the air to get a girl like me downright giddy. (Of course, that was two day...

Pictures from the past two weeks!

Daily photos tend to go out the window when you are in the middle of a move! But I did try to take some pictures so I'll just share them all right here...in no particular order whatsoever! Fire! We had a ton of junk on our property that needed burned. So, reluctantly (ha,ha) Sean built a huge fire. He not only burned all the excess wood and trash, he also managed to burn his fleece jacket in several spots. It was already in need of replacing, but now, with holes all over his coat, he just looks like a hobo...or a missionary! Paige really had fun playing on the top half of our recliner while we packed. She looks somewhat confused in this picture, though, doesn't she? Can't imagine why she might feel a little confused with all that was going on around her! Good thing kids are so resilient :-) Speaking of confused! Maddie found ways to entertain herself while Mommy and Daddy packed. Brooklyn had a loose tooth! And, contrary to what the picture below might suggest, she...

Update and thoughts on "Home."

Oh, my! Things have been a little on the crazy side around here. We moved out of our house last Wednesday and into my parents house. We finished moving totally out of our house on Thursday, then finished cleaning on Friday. Saturday...we rested! Then on Sunday we spoke in a local church. Monday found us trying to figure our new routine out...same thing for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday :-) Oh, today is Thursday, I was thinking it should be Friday by now. Well, we're still trying to figure things out! We feel very comfortable here and things are going very well so far. Our little red house is good and rented (not without a few hiccups, but all is good now), our dog and chickens settled into their new homes. It feels very strange. We're homeless again! We moved out of Brooklyn's school district, so we are now taking her into school every morning - a 20-30 minute drive. Not exactly convenient, but so it must be. We pick her up at a bus stop about four miles from ...
