    I guess we lived in FL too long - I look at the pictures and want to say "watch out for the alligators :) Beautiful photos - what fun!

Maddie's Big Day!

I'm just gushing over here.  My second-born took a big step today and made a decision for Christ!  We were having a talk in the car on the way to the store about heaven and next thing I know she's over there quietly folding her hands and whispering a prayer to Jesus. When she was done, she looked over at me with a big smile and said, "I have so many blessings from God, Mommy!" Indeed. Happy Born Again Day, Madison Elizabeth!  We love you so much.

If you can't beat 'em....

Brooklyn can't seem to resist writing on the walls. I finally decided to put an end to the battle.... Now she has her own special place in her bedroom to be as creative as she wants (within reason). This can be painted over and it gives her some boundaries while still allowing her to be "creative." I'm not sure she'll have any interest in writing on the wall now that it isn't against the rules but I sure had fun painting on the wall. I'm tempted to paint myself a square to doodle and scribble on.

Wal-Mart

Folks, we live THREE - count them three - miles from Wal-Mart. When you are settling into a new home this can be dangerous. Three times yesterday we breezed through their automatic doors, not to mention countless times in the days before.... It's not a good sign when the greeters stop greeting you because they've seen you so much. They're beginning to think we work there. Ha! Even better. We're the ones paying their paychecks. And their Christmas bonus. After living so far from anything resembling a Wal-Mart, we sure have adjusted to its availability quickly. It does occur to me to go somewhere else but - oh yeah! - there isn't anywhere else. I want to make that clear, people. In this little town, Wal-Mart - SUPER Wal-Mart, mind you - is king, queen, and court jester. We love the smallness of our town, don't get me wrong.
