I'm just gushing over here. My second-born took a big step today and made a decision for Christ! We were having a talk in the car on the way to the store about heaven and next thing I know she's over there quietly folding her hands and whispering a prayer to Jesus. When she was done, she looked over at me with a big smile and said, "I have so many blessings from God, Mommy!" Indeed. Happy Born Again Day, Madison Elizabeth! We love you so much.
Sean took this picture of these adorable puppies the other day. They are somebody's pets. That's right...this is what I tell myself so I can sleep at night. The other day at language school, one of my classmates was sharing a story about seeing a dog get run over by a guy on a motorcycle. He was telling the story (in his limited Indonesian) to one of the sweetest little Indonesian gals that I've met. She's kind and thoughtful and polite and a good teacher. As the story went on, Ibu Tasya was smiling and nodding. We were all waiting for her to exclaim, "Oh, the poor puppy! Was he okay?!" But guess what she said? "Oh, I LOVE dog meat! It's my favorite. I don't like the small dogs, but the big dogs are so tasty!" We all sat there speechless, waiting for her to laugh and say, "Just kidding!" She did not. We went on with class as if she'd just proclaimed that she really enjoys eating a good salmon fillet when she can get one....
We have a little tradition in our home of getting ice cream every Sunday afternoon. Sean takes the scooter and goes to a nearby store for ice cream cones. Then we all sit down together on our front porch and enjoy our once-a-week treat! It was Sean's idea to start the tradition a few months ago and our girls can't wait for the next Sunday to roll around! They are quite into this little family tradition...wonder why?! This is a tradition we want to continue as long as our girls will let us. Which should be quite a while if I know my girls! I'm so glad Sean brought out his camera last Ice Cream Sunday so I could show you the fun (and adorable-ness) we get to have every Sunday afternoon!
Such a precious face. Kiss those cheeks for me!
