A Praise and a Getaway
I'm just dropping in here between travel engagements (I love travel!) to share a huge praise - our house is rented!!! We're relieved that it won't be sitting empty over the winter. We'd still love to sell it altogether so please continue to pray with us that a buyer comes along ready to take that burden off our hands.
I said I was "between travel engagements." Yup! I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Jakarta for more dental work this morning and tomorrow, our family is headed out for our first vacation in nearly two years. Hooray! We so need this break. I'm thankful to God for His provision so that we can take this time away to just be a family - with no responsibility other than making ourselves rest and have fun together. Can't wait to play the part of the tourist, to travel as a family, to see a new part of Indonesia, to get away from the smokey air, to take a break from homeschooling, to step away from all the responsibilities that pull on us constantly, to laugh and have fun and be carefree for just a week. Bali, here we come!
Sean and the girls will be coming home next week, but I will stay on in Bali for a conference I've been looking forward to being a part of for months. Then I have to swing through Jakarta one. last.time. to get this root canal/crown all finished up. What a relief it will be to finish that! At the end of the month and beginning of November, we also have guests coming this way and Sean has more travel plans in the works himself.
As you can see, it's gonna be a crazy month or more. When it rains, it pours. I've learned to just take it all in stride - it isn't possible to spread things out nice and evenly. When we feel "stuck" and can't go anywhere, we have learned to be content. When life gets crazy-busy and we have umpteen things going on all at once, we learn to dig deep and do our best. When things are quiet and we have a chance, we learn to conserve our energy. And when those opportunities do suddenly present themselves to travel or go on vacation or even just go see a movie or make a trip to the swimming pool - we learn to seize the day and enjoy the fun!
We had a great birthday celebration for Madison earlier this week - she turned 7! I'm going to have lots of catching up to do on the blog when I get back near the end of the month. See you in a few weeks!
