I'm baaaaaack!
Long sigh.
Our internet has been giving us fits off and on since we got here. It would work and then it wouldn't and then we'd try something and we'd think it was fixed only to have it go out again. Frustrating!
Anyway, last week it was worse than ever. Every time I'd sit down to do something on the internet, it would go out or be incredibly slow. (That was when the electricity was on...that's gone off a few times lately too!) On Friday, our internet connection completely stopped working.
And so, for the past 5 days, we've been internet-less.
It could have been worse. But I quickly began to realize how dependent I am on the wonder and magic of the Internet. I can go without Facebook or even my favorite blogs or news pages. What I can't stand is to be without any communication whatsoever with my loved ones! (Mom, I hope you are prepared to talk with me today, cause I'macallin soon!)
Our internet has gone out for several reasons in several different countries and homes around the world but this was a first - the culprit for our bad internet connection was...bats. Bats?! They made a nice home in the router box on our roof. Apparently, they chewed through the cables and destroyed the router as well. It took five teknisi's (your Indonesian word-of-the-day) to finally fix the problem...but we're finally back in business!
I'm so grateful to be back!
By the way, my first week of Unit 2 is going very well! Sean said I would love the homework...and I do! The other day it was stormy and rainy and I got to sit at a desk, drink Coke Zero, listen to Enya, and study and write sentences and fill in blanks. I was in heaven!! Does that make me a nerd? snort, snort.
More later. I've got studying to do!
