Playing at the MAF playground and other updates
First, a few pictures that Sean took of the girls playing around our MAF apartment over the past couple of weeks. They've had so much fun!
In 24 hours, barring any major catastrophes (and, yes, it would have to be a catastrophe) we should be sitting in the airport in Boise awaiting our first flight.
This can't be real. In fact, it feels so surreal that I'm really starting to think that at some point, we should go ahead and tell people that this is all just one big story - a make believe story. But, apparently, this is real. It's getting more real by the minute!
Sean and I spent today getting all our things packed again. We've only been here in Nampa for 2 weeks but you'd be surprised at how much we'd spread out! We finally had everything all packed perfectly and I breathed a sigh of relief...until I walked into the laundry room and found a pile of clothes we forgot to pack! Good grief. So, we rearranged and reweighed and reconfigured and now I think we're done.
We fly out of Boise at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow and go to San Francisco where we'll catch our flight to Singapore - that's the long flight. I don't have the heart to tell you how long. And I also don't know exactly how long it takes to go from San Francisco to Singapore on a 777ER. But I do know that "ER" means Extended Range. That can't be a good sign.
Anyway. Then from Singapore we go to Jakarta. Then in Jakarta we'll spend a few days getting some paperwork finalized and then we'll fly to Semarang. Then we'll drive from Semarang to Salatiga. And then...we'll sleep for a week! And then, Brooklyn will start first grade.
The End.
Not!
That's just the beginning!
We're really excited. A little nervous, but mostly excited. Like I said before, this just doesn't seem real. We keep getting pretty good hints, though, that it is indeed, REAL!
Oh, and just so you know - we do have our visas and passports in hand. We're good to go!
Thanks for your prayers and support! I'll probably blog again on the other side :-)
Yay! Can't wait to see you guys on this side of the world! :)
