News from Nampa
Sean was busy flying most of the week and I spent the week trying to keep up with three very busy little girls while finalizing some details and getting a prayer letter finished. I may or may not have made multiple "necessary" trips to Wal-Mart and Target for last-minute things to throw in our luggage for Indonesia. We've also had a pretty busy social schedule (fun!). We had dinner at a friends' house, we went out with friends from Mexico one night, had a friend (who also happens to serve in Kalimantan) over for dinner one night, and were invited to the home of other friends from our Costa Rica days! That's four out of 7 nights! It's also one of our favorite things about being in MAF. We MAFers are serious about getting together! I'm hoping we'll be able to catch up with a few more people in the next week, too.
We're going to Indonesia in less than one week! Our tickets are bought for July 31. We fly from Boise to San Fransisco to Singapore to Jakarta. I'm not exactly looking forward to the trip - Paige, especially, is the one that worries me. I just know we're going to be over the Pacific somewhere when she totally loses it and starts screaming at the top of her lungs! And she may never stop after she gets started! She's really at a pretty difficult stage right now even without the added stress of traveling and jet lag. The other two are easily entertained with movies and they're at least capable of understanding the situation - but poor Paige is really going to be out of her element and confused by the whole thing. God has always been faithful, though, and I do know He'll grant us the grace we need to make the trip. Families do this all the time - bigger families with smaller kids than ours, too. It's doable! (Right? I'm pep-talking myself here...)
Tomorrow, we'll start a three day security training session. The older girls are pretty excited because it means they'll get a babysitter! I'm glad they see it that way! I'm kinda looking forward to getting out of the apartment for a few days ;-)
We went to our last church service in the States this morning. It was good. I know we're going to miss hearing messages in English...who knows what church is going to be like for us in Indonesia? I can only be sure of one thing - it will be different!
We appreciate your prayers for the upcoming week of training and preparing to go to Indonesia! Exciting (and overwhelming) times!
