Daily Photos: Feb 9-14

Tuesday Feb. 9: "Lost" night. I am so addicted to that show. It dates back to our time in Mexico when we bought the first three seasons and watched it just about every night. I was so sick with morning sickness (all day) during that time and it was such a treat to just sit and unwind and get lost in a show! Now, I just have to keep following it to find out what the heck is going on! Tonight, I fixed us some chocolate cake in a mug as a treat while we watched pretty much the only TV series we watch faithfully. My mother-in-law shared this recipe with me quite a while ago and I re-discovered it when I was going through my recipes. Minimal time and mess, maximum chocolatey goodness.

Wednesday Feb. 10: Maddie wanted to put her "cowhat" on first thing today. Then she wanted her picture taken.
Thursday Feb. 11: Sean caught Madison with my camera in her mess of a room. She was taking random pictures of books on the floor, her toy kitchen, and the wall. This was her "oops-I got-caught" look!

We also had Sean's parents over for dinner today. I wish I would have remembered to take some pictures of that. We had a great time!

Friday Feb. 12: Sean took the girls out for a Father/Daughter Dance at our church. The girls got new dresses for the occasion and it was obvious that they felt like royalty with all the special attention from Daddy! I didn't get to go along, but this is a picture Sean brought back from their special night out. The whole event was really well planned and special - they all got a fancy meal, delicious dessert, and each little girl was presented with a special heart necklace and earrings from their daddy. And they got to dance! These two girls came home with the biggest grins on their faces (and punch on their new, white dresses but that's another story).
Saturday, Feb. 13: We were invited to a girls-only birthday tea party for a friend of ours turning two whole years old! It was darling watching all those little girls dress up and drink tea out of fancy teacups. They drank tea, ate scones, made paper dolls, decorated cupcakes, played games and ran around the house squealing for a couple of hours. Us adults just stood back and marveled at little girls with boundless energy and a common obsession with all things girly :-) Here they are in all their splendor (minus Paige) - the birthday girl, Addison, Brooklyn, Ilon, and Maddie (who was done wearing her dress by then). After the party, my girls went on to yet another party at their Aunt Carrie's house! They spent the night and had a wonderful time. Sean and I went on a little date after he got back from a day of flying friends of ours to Midland, Texas and back. What a busy weekend!

Sunday, Feb. 14: Happy Valentines Day! We spoke at two different churches today! Amazingly it was still a pretty relaxing day. While the girls napped in the afternoon (they were exhausted after all the fun at Aunt Carrie's house) Sean and I rested as well. I made some homemade pretzels for a snack/light dinner. I happened to glance outside and see Duke looking absolutely pathetic and lonely outside so I told Brooklyn to bring him inside for a while. Well, one thing led to another and next thing we knew it, Duke had on Brooklyn's nifty new sunglasses! Brooklyn took this picture of him looking like a soft, cuddly, and very cool Valentine pup! Soon after, his friend Shadow came by. Shadow will be his "brother" in another few months. My uncle is taking Duke when we leave. We love this silly dog, Duke, and it is a relief to know he'll be so well-loved by my uncle, his girlfriend, and Shadow the black lab. They all come by just to see Duke almost every Sunday!
Bonus Picture: Brooklyn and Madison all dressed up for their big night out with Daddy! They were sooooo excited!
Not one single picture of Paige! I'm not sure how that happened, because she was in the middle of everything this week! We'll try for a little more equal blog time between the sisters next week....
