Daily Photos: Feb 1-8
A whole week is gone! That's okay, 'cause it was a good one. We were out of town for a few days last week. It's always fun to go on a road trip...and to see lots of friends and family we don't normally get to see :-)
Monday, Feb. 1: We woke up to a frosty, gorgeous morning. I don't know if I've ever seen so much frost weighing down branches here. Sean and Maddie went out and took some pictures.
Tuesday, Feb. 2: Okay, so this picture is from Monday. In all the chaos of getting ready for our trip, I forgot to take a picture on Tuesday, so I'm borrowing the one below. Sean and I presented to the local Rotary Club on Monday as well. Sean does an awesome job of using slides and our movie to give people an idea of what missionary aviation looks like. We love answering questions and sharing our passion!
Wednesday, Feb. 3: My parents are originally from Eastern Kansas. My dad and uncle have always been HUGE KU (University of Kansas) fans - actually pretty much everybody in my extended family is a ridiculous Jayhawk fan (even my sweet Grandma Jean). We all cheer for KU...especially when they are doing so well! Dad buys tickets to see KU play CU in Boulder, Colorado every year. This year, I got to go! We all drove up for the game together and stopped at Chuck E. Cheese's on the way so the kids could have fun. They did. Sean was kind enough to watch the girls at the hotel while I went to the game. It was a great game and went into overtime (even though it should have been a blowout). The Jayhawks did eventually show up and win the game. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! (That's me with my sister and mom before the game started.)
Thursday, Feb. 4: We had a little time to spare before meeting our friends for lunch so we went to Target. (What else do country bumpkins like us do in the big city?!) Maddie and Brooklyn had fun trying on all the different sunglasses. Friday, Feb. 5: After spending the night at Sean's sister's house, we had another day full of fun. We had breakfast with Rachael and her friend, ran some errands, and then went to Sean's aunt's house for a yummy lunch of ham! All the girls had fun with Aunt Angilynn's toys. Paige even sat and rocked on the rocking moose! Too cute.
Saturday, Feb. 6: We got back home on Friday night, so we took it pretty easy on Saturday. No pictures of unpacking and doing laundry. I spent a lot of my day remembering our time up in Denver...and wishing we had a Whole Foods store nearby. Isn't it the most beautiful thing you ever saw?! Yes, we walked through Whole Foods and took pictures while we were in the city. I told you we were hicks! Sunday, Feb. 7: While Sean watched the Superbowl, I spent the whole afternoon organizing, copying, and putting all my favorite recipes together in one binder. When it's time to move out of this house (and travel to the other side of the world) I'll have all my favorite recipes nicely organized and together in a small binder, rather than a suitcase full of different cookbooks! Cooking is one of my very favorite things. This binder is full of yumminess - everything from Gallo Pinto to Chicken and Noodles to Enchilada Sauce to Cranberry Salad to Chili Kids Love to our favorite Chicken Curry Madras. Every recipe is not only delicious, but it also has a story and holds special meaning to our family. Love that. This book is an absolute treasure to me, it might even have to go in my carry-on when we travel :-)
Monday, Feb. 8: Guess who didn't take a nap again today?! Maddie was my helper all day while I ran a bunch of errands and did the grocery shopping. She played so well all day long - like the sweetie she is...until about five minutes ago. Yikes! Can you say early bedtime?!Well, Brooklyn didn't make it into many of the pictures I posted this week! So, here's a bonus of my oldest sweetie pie from last Thursday's fun in Target:
