Bunny Wuv

We've been trying for a while to find a bunny rabbit for Brooklyn. Sean and I both had them as kids and have great memories. Some friends of ours called us yesterday and asked if we would be interested in taking one of their three bunnies. Of course! We already had a cage from the family that lived in this house before us and our friends even gave us some rabbit food to get started with until we can figure out where to get it ourselves. Brooklyn is in heaven, as you can imagine. We're all quite taken with the little ball of white fur. Bunnies are just so cute - and, unlike most animals, they stay that way even when they get bigger. We named the rabbit Sunny, which is a nice non-gender name because we can't figure out if we've got a girl or a boy. I'm pretty sure its a girl but I can't be sure. Anyway, Sunny Bunny is just the cutest little thing you ever did see. She looks just like my childhood pet, Trixie - all white with pink eyes. Brooklyn especially loves the pink eyes since that is her favorite color! Sunny Bunny is still young, and it sounds like she'll get quite a bit bigger. Brooklyn's days of lugging her around in her arms are probably numbered. But for now it is a cute sight that does this mommy's heart good.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I really get a kick out of cute animals and Sean, though he acts tough, is pretty fond of pets too. I love that we can give Brooklyn the opportunity to have fun pets - she obviously takes after us in the fondness for cute creatures area. We have a dog, a cat, and a bunny now (and two kittens who are on their way to a new home) - and I think that is plenty for now. Good pets (that aren't slithery or creepy) are fun to have around and keep Brooklyn entertained for hours - but they must stay outside! I just really hope this bunny doesn't die on us. That would not be fun.
