Tickled Pink
A few weeks ago we moved the girls into the same room and then painted their room pink. Today, we made the final touches to it (hanging shelves and pictures). I'm pleased with how it turned out. Brooklyn thinks it's pretty cool - she even told me "thanks, Mom!" The room was cute to begin with but I decided we needed to change it all around to reflect Brooklyn and Maddie. It is a very pink room. Very. Pink. But cute and girly and fun for two little princesses to share as they get older.
Another view of Brooklyn's bed and the wardrobe/dresser that holds all the girls' clothes. We bought that in Puyo at a great price and it's really cute and holds lots!
Here's a peek at Maddie's crib, also found in Puyo for cheap. The door out to the hall is to the left. This is a little recessed area that is supposed to serve as the "closet." None of the bedrooms have real closets, just set back places where you can hang clothes.
See those curtains? Yup, I made 'em! Don't look too closely at them but I did okay. I'm still learning.... I actually used an old sheet that we had. It's hard to find fabric that I really like down here and that sheet just happened to match the room perfectly.
Remember the quilt? I dug it back out and with renewed patience I made the repairs it needed. It turned out very cute and goes well in the room too. Phew. Sewing is one of those things I'd love to be really good at....but don't have much patience for when the rubber meets the road. I have hope, now.... Stay tuned to see if I ever really get good at it! (If it's going to happen, the mission field will be the place because it's the only way to get what you really like!)
